Here we go to Japan's largest sunflower field.
The first part of the course passed through flat farm land in Chippubetsu.
There were few cars around me, and I felt relaxed as I pedaled along.
After a while, I made a right turn onto Route 275, and there a yellow carpet spread out before my eyes! It was Himawari no Sato (Sunflower Village).
I wanted to go directly to see the flowers, but, following the planned course, I continued to go straight and made a left turn at the Roadside Station.
There again I saw the yellow carpet on the left, but again I had to go straight.
"What a frustrating course!" I cursed.
I pedaled uphill for 2 km and got to the top.
Turning back and looking around, I was amazed at what I saw.
Square patterns of farmland in shades of green dotted with yellow sunflower fields and the majestic Taisetsu Mountains in the distance.
What a beautiful view!! I started pedaling again, determined to finally reach the Sunflower Village.
Thanks to all the detours, I was able to immerse myself in the flowers here.
The vast fields of yellow flowers all around you! It was really worth visiting.
After enjoying the sunflowers, I went on cycling through the trees and over the flat farmland.
My worthwhile final stop was my visit to the Rose Garden in Chippubetsu.
The fragrant roses were as attractive as the sunflowers.
Colors and fragrances these are the memories I took back home with me.
