Sorachi de Cycling/summer active report
There are three ice cream shops on this course! Perfect for summer! So, on a sunny summer day, I started out from Kuriyama.
Once I had passed through the downtown of Kuriyama, I was in the countryside.
There were farms and fields as far as I could see.
What an idyllic world! After riding across the flat fields, I was soon cycling on rolling hills looking out at the Maoi Hillside.
I arrived at Aichu Land for my first taste of soft ice cream.
Refreshed, I continued cycling, this time along the almost deserted farm road than runs parallel to busy Route 337.
The next ice cream shop on my itinerary was "Paku Paku".
Here I chose the berry parfait sweet, sour and cold, just the thing to refresh me! After the break came the most difficult section of this course: a short but steep hill road leading to a golf course with a 10% incline.
Going up the hill, my heart started racing and I was sweltering, but somehow I managed to make it.
On the downhill finish, I coasted along feeling the fresh breeze.
At Yuni Garden, I went up a little hill and passed through the downtown of Yuni.
Then I took a straight road to Kuriyama Station.
The cycling course runs parallel to the railroad and offers a panoramic view of the countryside.
I made a stop at Aisu-no-Ie for my third and last ice cream a "jumbo waffle soft ice cream".
I found out there are a few other ice cream shops on this course.
Next time, I will have to try all of them!
