■There is a campground for fees, a BBQ corner, hiking trails, a baseball stadium and tennis courts. Also in the small zoo,children can play with the animals free of charge. In early May, the 300 cherry trees in full bloom attract many visitors.

■They offer soft ice cream made of rich milk and fresh cream in three flavors: vanilla, chocolate and green tea.

■This 130 year old sake Brewery has been offered sake, “ water of life” to people in Kuriyama. Their representative local sake, Kita no Nishiki, is loved by people all over Japan. With a gift shop, a restaurant, and a hand-made buck wheat noodle shop, this is a place for families.

■Located on Route 274, this attractive red brick building is in the shape of a silo. Juicy soft ice cream using local milk is my favorite. Try it!

■Doburoku, unrefined sake made from rice they grow themselves. The entire process of sake brewing, from rice polishing to fermentation and bottling, is all done by hand. Other products include rice, doburoku pudding, and jelly. Their products can also be purchased on their website.

■With a name meaning “Come and eat! in French,this Italian restaurant is located on a small hill amidst paddy fields in Yuni Town. Their cooking features fresh vegetables grown by local farmers.
